Welcome...Me

Well, this is it, my first blog entry.  The proverbial blog cherry popped as it were.  The subject heading for this blog says it all.  Welcome...Me.  I am welcoming myself becasue presumably I am the only one currently reading my own blog.  That's okay by me.  Writing ultimately strikes me as a completely self-serving act anyway.  An itch that must be scratched.  So that's what this blog will be - me scratching my itch.  And if anyone else likes it, then yay. 

Ok, so goals of the blog.  One, to have opinions.  I am tired of reading and watching milquetoast opinions.  The very notion of having an opinion implies a side being taken.  So that's what I will do.  I will take sides.  I will not take sides in a sort of blind allegiance to a team or a concept however.  Human beings run the world of sports, not some vast monolith that requires subservience.  Yes, the Dolphins are my favorite team - my horse in the race, if you will. But my rooting for them really has no bearing on any opinion I will generate.  It's simple, I will try not to be in the large block of most sports fans - those who believe their team can do no right, and those who believe their team can do no wrong.  Nothing happens in a vaccum - there is context.  So thats what I will try to do here.  Bring some context, bring an opinion, have some fun, and hopefully, scratch my itch.
