Baltimore Ravens defeat Miami Dolphins 27-9

It was a bitter end. The 2008 Miami Dolphins unexpected ride on the road to the Super Bowl came to a quick end at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens. When the clock reached triple zeroes, the Fins were on the losing end of a 27-9 slaughter.

Ed “Just hand me my Hall of Fame Jacket now” Reed was the recipient of a couple of Chad Pennington’s interceptions, returning one for touchdown. Reed’s 64-yard pick-six in the second quarter put the Ravens up 10-3, which would have been good enough on the day the Fins coughed it five times after only giving up 13 turnovers all season.

Miami made it interesting with a late fourth quarter Pennington TD pass to Ronnie Brown. However, after previously limiting the Raven’s offense to a couple of three and outs, the Fins defense failed to halt a Ravens game sealing touch down march.

Even with the first round lost, the season is far from a failure. Unfairly, expectations for next year will be high even if Bill Parcells opts out of his contract as team VP of football operations. Parcells influence is undeniable with the placing of some of his formal Dallas Cowboys staff, namely first year head coach Tony Sparano

  2. I'd stay its still a bit early to tell, but with another productive offseason I don't see why 10-6 or 11-5 and another playoff berth would be out of line.
