DirectTV NFL Sunday Ticket and Sirius for True Fans

Thanks to both DirectTV and Sirius, I am able to follow the Dolphins where ever I am. They both offer exclusive programming that you cannot find anywhere else. DirectTV offers the DirectTV NFL Sunday Ticket package and Sirius broadcasts all home and away games for those on the road. The unfortunate fact is I caught every game last year and am still looking forward to the upcoming season.

The Miami Dolphins have but two choices: to reminisce about the past or to press on and look towards the future. Because dwelling on their depressing 2007 record of 1-15 is certainly no fun! For their 43rd season, the Dolphins have made several important changes. Now joining the front office are Bill Parcells as Executive Vice President of Football Operations, Jeff Ireland as General Manager and new head coach Tony Sparano.

Not much good comes from being ranked the lowest in the NFL except for the draft consolation prize. The Dolphins did get to pick first in the 2008 draft and wasted no time in selecting offensive tackle Jake Long. Long signed a five year contract worth $57.75 million dollars, making him the highest paid offensive lineman in the league. The Dolphins must have kept Michigan in close sight for the last few years, since they wasted no time in drafting Chad Henne, who played with Long at Michigan. Other notable names acquired in the draft were defensive end Phillip Merling, defensive end Kendall Langford, guard Shawn Murphy, running back Jalen Parmele, guard Donald Thomas, defensive end Lionel Dotson and running back Lex Hilliard. With their draft selections Miami took sure steps to improve their defense and offense.

Experts predict that outstanding drafts aside, most of Miami’s success in the new year (or lack of) will be because of Jason Paul Taylor. Taylor is considered the all-time leader in defensive touchdowns and was recently voted to the All-time Miami Dolphins team in a poll of fans. Unfortunately, Taylor is so popular that he is juggling his fading NFL career with celebrity dancing and living up to Sports Illustrated’s “Ten Sexiest Athletes” honor. With a team still in rebuilding, fans are looking to Taylor to lead the team back to certain victory.
